Court grants CBN’s request to freeze 20 accounts belonging to #EndSARS promoters

A federal High court in the federal capital Abuja has given a go-ahead order to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to freeze the bank accounts connected to #EndSARS promoters in the country.

The Apex bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele who had on Tuesday, October 20, filed an ex-parte court application to freeze the accounts of 20 individuals including a public affairs company for being masterminds of the recent nationwide protests against police brutality in Nigeria.

A leaked document that has made its way to social media shows that Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the order on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

Access Bank, Fidelity, First Bank, GTB, Zenith, and UBA, are the banks ordered to freeze the accounts of the #EndSARS promoters.

Below is the full list of individuals whose accounts have been blocked as a result of the court order.
